Bob Dylan's 116th Dream

In the right bed in the wrong room I dream
of cherries and flowers and plums hanging by threads
begging to be stripped
to reveal the paste beneath
and of holes to be spackled
and of primers and paints
and of splotchy sweatshirts and swollen thumbs
and before I wake up
in the right bed in the wrong room I realize
that I'm
almost
home
